Candidates conduct a survey of the faculty and staff to determine which faculty and staff are interested in taking part in leadership experiences and training. Design a conference format and conference with individuals that have expressed an interest in leadership. Design a program of the leadership training experiences that includes opportunities to participate in the leadership role dealing with actual issues or challenges that face the school in the context of a fail-safe environment.
In a presentation to the leadership trainees, the candidate will demonstrate an understanding of the AASA or NASSP Code of Ethics for leaders. The presentation will include opportunities for participants to apply the professional components of ethical conduct to a real life school situation. The candidate will lead a discussion to improve the well-being of students in light of the relationships between ethical behavior, school conduct and student learning.
Candidate produces a written reflection on his/her ethical conduct as a school leader. The paper should include the place of ethical conduct and transparency in the candidate’s professional life.
