Ephesians 4:16 states, “From Him the whole body grows, fitted and held together through every supporting ligament. As each one does its part, the body grows in love.” We are connected as Christians through Christ, and this connection helps us grow.
Community building is a central part of both social work and Christian faith. As social workers, we seek to build and sustain healthy communities that empower and connect people. As Christians, community involves sharing a life in Christ; it can be central in how we experience, worship, serve, and experience our Lord.
Consider what your faith community means to you and how your faith community has become an integral part of your desire to enter into the social work profession.
