TRANSPORT
Transport is the activity that involves of moving people and commodities from
one place to another. Transport therefoe means to carry ,to move or tggo convey
people and commodities from one point to another. The various modes of
transport arte as follows :
Road transport
Railway transport

Road transport
Road is the most common transport in Africa.People travel by road by walking on
foot,,using motor vehicles,buses,bicycles.motor cycles etc. Goods are
transported by road using lorries ,trailers and animals. Different regions within a
country are joined together with a road network which may link them to other

1. It is easy and relatively cheap to construct compared to railways
2. It is the most flexible form of transport

Disadvantages

RAILWAY TRANSPORT

from nakuru. The standard rail gauge construction stared in 2013 from
Mombasa and reached Nairobi in 2017 and extended to naivasha in 2019.

Mombasa and lamu are marine ports that links Kenya with other countries
through bulk ships

3. Goods are transported in containers which are able to protect them
4. This mode of transport is not affected by congestation
